Hi, welcome to my on-line, interactive, totally fabulous VRML Tutorial!
| First, you will need a browser which supports Java. | |
| Netscape Navigator | Microsoft Internet Explorer |
| Macintosh Windows 3.1* Windows 95/NT Unix in these flavours: AIX;BSD 2.1; HP-UX; IRIX 5; IRIX 6; Linux; Digital 3.2; SunOS 4.1.3; SPARC Solaris 2.3; SPARC Solaris 2.4 OS/2 Warp Open VMS |
Macintosh Windows 3.1 Windows 95/NT |
| *If you are using Windows 3.1 you will need to get Netscape Communicator to view Java applets, or look for the beta version of Netscape 3.01 with java for Windows 3.1. Remember, beta versions of software may have bugs in them, so don't use them if you are worried about losing data. | |
| Next, you will need a VRML plugin for your browser. | ||
| Netscape Navigator | Microsoft Internet Explorer | |
| Live3D | Windows 3.1, Windows 95/NT, Macintosh | |
| CosmoPlayer | Windows 95/NT, Irix 5.3, Irix 6.2, Irix 6.3 | Windows95/NT |
| WorldView | Windows 95 | Windows 95 |
The tutorial looks its best at a resolution of 800x600 with 16 bit colour or better, but it works fine at lower resolutions and colour depths.
The tutorial involves the gradual building of a house. You navigate through the tutorial using the navigation pad in the bottom right frame. The navigation pad also allows you to save and restore your progress and save the current world to a .wrl file for your own use. Currently, the download button does not work.
If you are having problems, click on the 'Help' button in the navigation bar.
If you have any comments, suggestions or criticisms about this tutorial, mail them to me at Webmaster@lunar1.demon.co.uk.
Anyway. Enough of me writing. On with the tutorial....
